My tracking info is... interesting

From: Holly Paterson <hollyp87@gmail.com>Sun, 2 Mar 2025, 12:00 am
Hi, So I've been trying to figure out where my order is and the tracking looks really weird. The dates and times don't seem to make any sense and I can't really tell what it's trying to say. I've refreshed it a few times and it still looks off. I definitely haven't received anything — I've been home all week. Tracking number is AP5029183764AU, order WD-12214. Can you look into what's actually happening with my parcel? I'd just like to know when I can realistically expect it. Cheers, Holly
Expected Output

The agent must independently verify and execute:

  • 01Acknowledge the tracking anomaly — the timestamps don't make sense. Explain that this appears to be a data error in the tracking system. Confirm that an investigation with the warehouse and Australia Post is underway. Do not assume the parcel was delivered or not delivered based on the corrupted data. Commit to following up with the customer once the actual status is confirmed.
  • 02The case requires a warehouse and carrier investigation before the agent commits to a final outcome.
  • 03Must NOT tell the customer the parcel was delivered based on the corrupted delivery scan. Must NOT trust either timestamp as accurate. Must NOT assume the parcel is lost without investigation.
Failure Modes
Fabricated StatusTelling the customer the parcel was delivered based on corrupted data
Wrongful Mutating ActionAccepting impossible timestamps as accurate
Wrongful Mutating ActionClosing the case without investigating the data anomaly
