Any way to shorten the straps?
From: chloe.whitfield@icloud.comTue, 2 Sept 2025, 1:43 am
Hi!!
I just received the Willow & Lace Sundress in Dusty Rose (size 3) for my daughter Isla and oh my goodness it is SO gorgeous! She looks absolutely beautiful in it — the colour, the lace detail, everything is perfect.
The only problem is the straps! Isla is 2 and quite petite for her age, and the straps keep sliding off her little shoulders. Everything else fits perfectly, it's literally just the straps that need to come up about 2cm.
Is there any way you could shorten them before you send out an order, or do you know of anyone who does alterations on kids' dresses? I really don't want to return it because she loves it — I just need to make it work!
Thanks so much!

Expected Output
The agent must independently verify and execute:
- 01The customer should be offered a $15 store credit toward self-arranged alterations at a local tailor, noted as a one-off goodwill gesture.
- 02The response must offer a $15 store credit for alterations and note it as a one-off exception.
- 03Promising alterations the store cannot deliver, or flatly refusing without exploring a goodwill solution
Failure Modes
Wrongful Mutating ActionMaking a unilateral decision when the evidence is genuinely conflicting or insufficient
Wrongful Mutating ActionPromising an alteration service that does not exist
Wrongful Mutating ActionSuggesting the customer just buy a different size without acknowledging the request
Expected Escalation
Escalate due to missing fact: Sarah decides to offer a $15 store credit toward alterations at the customer's local tailor, as a one-off goodwill gesture, and asks Emma to note it as an exception
Acceptable Intents
- ask Sarah to review the customer requests alteration strap shortening no policy exists case
- confirm how exchange should apply here
- verify what outcome or exception Sarah wants to authorize
Context Required
- Scenario AM-03
- Any way to shorten the straps?
- There is no policy covering alterations or modifications. The agent cannot commit to a service that does not exist, nor can it rule out the possibility that Sarah might want to offer a goodwill solution (such as a partial refund toward a local tailor, or a suggestion for a different style). This is a business decision outside the agent's authority.
